In October of 2018, Voron was challenged by his new leadership team to create a 4 month “Pop-Up” in NYC before the Christmas holidays. The goal of the first Dolby consumer experiential venue was to create a cool environment for consumers to experience Dolby Dimension Headphones, the companies first consumer product as well as B2B technologies that we sell to partners such as Dolby Atmos sound, Dolby Vision imaging technologies and Dolby Cinema. In addition, the space also had to serve as an executive briefing center as well as a cool place for film makers, musicians and sound designer to hang out and learn more about how Dolby products could help them amplify their creations.
The result phenomenal, better than anyone expected. The 4 month experimental “pop-up” turned into a year long endeavor and has had over 175,000 visitors in six months and welcomed esteemed industry influencers such as Michael Kors, Bella-Hadid, Wu-Tang Clan, DJ Khaled, Nas and many others.
Voron’s team prototyped the environment designs in California, then scoped out properties in NYC and continued on to successfully staff, curate and manage the venue for the remainder of the fiscal year in Soho.
