In response to this, Voron and his colleagues in the Apple Industrial Design studio made a concerted effort to develop processes to harmonize and measure the design concepts in a consistent manner. The team referred to the organic form design language system as “the love of lozenge” since it was this simple pill shape that was at the core of the form factor of Apple’s products from 1999 to 2006 and beyond. This design language, based on a simple geometric shape, also enable the designer to respectively critique their peer’s design when the harmonizing element was missing.
